I love these dryer balls. Have never had any to compare them to but they feel like such a nice quality. I think they may be helping the laundry dry quicker. Hard to tell but we do have a very old dryer too.

We ordered the wool dryer balls and really like them...appear to be well made. Only used them a few times so far but so far, so good...definitely does the job on reducing static and drying items a bit faster.
